Preserving Our Legacy, Rebuilding Our Future
St. Peter’s College Tororo is more than an institution of learning; it is a heritage of excellence, discipline, leadership and service that has shaped generations of distinguished Ugandans. However, years of inadequate infrastructure investment have left several of the school’s facilities in need of urgent rehabilitation and modernisation.
Recognising the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for current and future generations, the St. Peter’s College Old Boys Association (SPECTOBA) embarked on an ambitious infrastructural renewal initiative aimed at restoring the college to its former glory and positioning it for greater academic and co-curricular excellence.
The initiative brings together former students, friends of the college, corporate partners, well-wishers and other stakeholders in a coordinated effort to mobilise financial, technical and material resources towards the rehabilitation and improvement of essential school infrastructure.
The infrastructural renewal programme prioritises several critical areas:
Students’ Accommodation: Renovation and improvement of dormitories to provide safe, dignified, comfortable and conducive living conditions for students.
Classroom Infrastructure: Rehabilitation and modernisation of classrooms to support effective teaching, learning and improved academic performance.
Science Laboratories: Improvement of science laboratory facilities and equipment to strengthen practical learning, scientific innovation and research.
Water and Sanitation: Improvement of water supply, sanitation and hygiene facilities to promote a healthy and safe school environment.
Sports and Recreation Facilities: Rehabilitation and development of sports grounds and recreational facilities to nurture talent, teamwork, discipline and physical wellbeing.
General School Infrastructure: Improvement of other essential facilities to support the school’s administration, operations and overall learning environment.
SPECTOBA believes that rebuilding our school is a collective responsibility. The college gave us an education, friendships, values and opportunities that have shaped our lives. We therefore have a responsibility to give back and ensure that future generations enjoy an even better learning environment.
Through organised fundraising initiatives, alumni contributions, corporate partnerships and strategic resource mobilisation, SPECTOBA seeks to transform individual goodwill into meaningful and sustainable institutional development.
The successful mobilisation of old boys during the 2023 Homecoming and the subsequent launch of the inaugural fundraising dinner on 20th June 2024 marked important milestones in this collective journey.
Our ambition goes beyond repairing ageing buildings. We envision a modern, safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment that reflects the heritage and reputation of St. Peter’s College Tororo.
We invite every old boy, friend of the college, corporate institution and development partner to join us in this transformative journey.
Together, we can rebuild our school, restore its pride and secure its future.
Making Tororo College Great Again!
